UCONN Top Dog in NCAA Basketball

The University of Connecticut Huskies Men’s Basketball, led by Coach Kevin Ollie, are the four-time National Champions!!! They beat the Kentucky Wildcats 60-54 in an NCAA championship game Monday.

team. But not just any Boston team. This primarily has to do with the Stanley Cup Finals. Granted, I don’t follow hockey much, but when the Boston Bruins had to win Game 6 to force a Game 7, there was supremacy of hockey at stake.

Team Canada beat Team USA in the Winter Olympics Hockey Finals. True, hockey is big in Canada, but don’t bet against the red, white, and blue. I wouldn’t call Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals a rematch, but it is something to make me prouder to be an American than I’ve ever been.  Our neighbors to the north? Not so much. Angry Canuck fans went awry when the team lost, causing a riot and leaving the city of Vancouver in shambles. Talk about a sore loser!

Yes, We Conn!

No ifs, ands, or buts about it, the UCONN Huskies are the NCAA National Champions, beating the Butler Bulldogs 53–41. But more questions than answers loom the future of the UCONN Huskies 2011-12 season. Questions like, “Will Jim Calhoun retire?” and “Is Kemba Walker NBA-bound?”

There has even been a stream of tweets bashing the hell out of Jim Calhoun. What up?

Let’s not worry about that. UCONN is top dog.

Revenge Best Served Cold

Clevelanders and the “former” fans of LeBron James got exactly what they wanted — seeing their beloved Cavaliers beat LeBron and the Miami Heat. Though they’ve got a long way before they can make it to the NBA Playoffs, set to begin on April 16, they did take LeBron down.

Tebow Hair-Don’t

This is why you don’t let your friends give you a haircut. Especially Dez Bryant.

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow (pictured above) became the victim of a team hazing when his teammates gave him a haircut that made him look like a friar. I’m surprised Greek Week came early in the NFL season. Apparently, what happens in college does NOT stay in college — and that includes hazing.
