Bottled Up

Since yesterday, a bill proposing the 5-cent-per-bottle surcharge on all bottled water, except for water sold in gallons, went into effect in Connecticut. The popularity of bottled water has gotten so great that most of the empty bottles end up on the ground or in landfills.

It’s only a matter of time before the consumers go back to drinking water from the faucet. The bottle bill was supposed to go in effect on April 1, but the need for industry changes prompted the extension. Granted, it’s going to cost you a nickel more per bottle, but there’s a chance you WILL get that nickel back, right?
